Two friends discussing a month's worth of culture at a time
Cory and Katie spend a lot of time talking. Now we record it. We'll be talking pop culture, current events, and general topics on our minds each month to which we hope you might be able to relate.

Episode 07: The Oscars & The Campaign - (48:03) 22 MB
Our long awaited 7th episode! We start by digging into where we last left Katie - on the precipice of grad school - and how that may have a hand in our discussions going forward. While The Oscars were a little less than a month ago, we still have a lot to say (and in time honored C&KTAS fashion - we talked about them before they aired) - and we think what we say is still pretty relevant. Since it's still March, and the most likely contenders for nominations for this November are still in the race, our thoughts on the campaigns and their current tiresome moods have never been more relevant. Mindgrapes cut short, but we do hear what's been on Katie's mind over the last seven months. Did you know: The only mammals to undergo menopause are elephants, humpback whales and human females.
Episode 06: Fall TV - (36:18) 16.62 MB
Episode 6: We make it back only a month into the Fall Television Season (though in true C&K fashion, we discussed this only a week into the new season - luckily not a lot has shifted so far). /// Hear our hot takes on what we think is the best and brightest of this fall's TV - both new and old. This is followed as always by our mind grapes: Katie gives you a peek into what's been all consuming for her since September and I give you a few more options for listening to people talk a lot about TV. /// (Technical issues mean there's another persistent buzz this episode. We're really sorry about that, but given how long it takes us to actually put a show together, we didn't think we'd be able to record again until about now anyway.) /// Did you know: The only mammals to undergo menopause are elephants, humpback whales and human females.
Episode 05: Taylor Nation - (36:13) 16.59 MB
Episode 5: Taylor Nation :: After an unexpected summer vacation, C&KTAS is back for episode 5! This time it's all the performer, and the phenomena, of Taylor Swift. We recorded after having just seen her live in Seattle, so our adoration is at its peak. (We recorded this before Ryan Adams' "1989" was released, but we have thoughts on that record too!) // After we spend 30 minutes discussing T. Swift, we roll into our mind grapes. Katie discusses her return to BLOODLINE and I discuss how I was preparing for fall TV to start, we both discuss summer series UNREAL. // Did You Know: In Alaska it is illegal to whisper in someone's ear while they're moose hunting.
Episode 04: It's ok to be a human with a human body! - (1:02:00) 28.39 MB
Episode 4: It's ok to be a human with a human body! In this episode Cory & Katie stick with discussing just one topic: body shame, body positivity, and fat positivity. It's a big loaded topic for a lot of people and we more than easily filled nearly an hour of time discussing it. We finish the show with our mind grapes, covering everything from being introduced to HBO classic series SIX FEET UNDER to first thoughts on Apple Music. Episode 03: The Bachelorette - (35:58) 16.47 MB
We finally made it! After having some technical difficulties and timing issues - it took a month to get this episode out, but finally it is here! This month we devoted the entire show to one very important topic of our generation: The Bachelorette. This is followed up by Mindgrapes where we discuss two new summer jams, Apple Music, ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK, and Rachel Dolezal.
